What is Sustainability
Sustainability is woven into our very DNA at Funotex Team. It’s part of everything we are, everything we do, and everything we strive to be.

Although developing and manufacturing materials and products will always have an impact on our planet, our responsibility is to limit this as much as possible. This requires constant effort, starting from the first stage of the manufacturing process and ending with the way we consume. Everyone has a very specific role to play, from the producer to the consumer.
Our involvement and follow-ups are performed throughout the entire clothes production process. From inception to conception, we are constantly looking for new fibres, recycled materials and other innovations that could improve the overall manufacturing process. We demand from our manufacturers valid and official certifications, recognised internationally. In fact, we personally visited each of the factories producing the various elements of our products and ensured that all were certified BSCI/COSTCO audit/REACH,BLUESIGN/OEKOTEX 100/Global Recycle Standard(GRS)/GOTS/ RDS/PFC free Eco friendly fabric/Bionic finishing)
The Oeko-Tex® 100 standard is a certification ensuring that raw materials and products are tested so as not to contain illegal or chemical substances harmful to human health and / or the environment. For its certified products, the GOTS standard has strict rules on the use of chemicals throughout the production process. Furthermore, GOTS includes additional and stricter chemical regulations to what the REACH standard offers, such as nanoparticles, waste in aquaculture and biodegradability.
Take new polyester vs. recycled polyester. Virgin polyester is made from a combination of coal, ethylene (which is derived from petroleum), air, and water, which are formed from a chemical reaction under extremely high heat. It's a high energy process that relies on even more energy and natural resources when you consider the amount of resources it takes to extract coal and petroleum from the earth. Not great.
Recycled polyester, on the other hand, is made from recycled plastic bottles which cuts out the need for petroleum and coal extraction. Our recycled polyester literally starts at the dump to collect plastic bottles that don't belong in landfills (yay waste-reduction!). From there, the plastic bottles are shredded into flakes by a machine (that can be run on renewable energy!). Those flakes are melted down into pellets, then the pellets are extruded (think spun and pulled like taffy) into yarn. The yarn is then knitted, cut, and sewn into clothing just like any other yarn.
It takes about 9 bottles to make one varsity T-shirt. All of our recycled polyester fibers are made from 100% post-consumer plastic bottles and they're GRS Certified (Global Recycling Standard). Only 9% of the Earth’s plastic has been recycled, but we’re committed to boosting that percentage by using more recycled polyester every year.

Factory complaint/Audit
1.BSCI Certified
BSCI certification is an initiative of the European Global Trade Association (Amfori). BSCI certification is mainly to help retailers, brands to identify and monitor whether there is a violation of business ethics in the supply chain; For example; Whether the supplier (OEM) uses child labor, forced labor, skimping employees' wages, unpaid overtime, environmental pollution, etc.
2.Our factories are audited every year by VF Corporation(The group who owns Supreme, The North Face, Timberland, Vans...), from embroidery mill, printer to our sewing factory, all are compliant under being supervised.
