China's Epidemic Prevention Is Keeping Up With The Times And The World.

Dec 28, 2022

China's epidemic prevention is keeping up with the times and the world.
The pace of China this time is quite big, and judging from a few specific adjustments, it should be said that this time is "keeping up with the times and the world".

Take the example of "new coronary pneumonia" to "new coronavirus infection", WHO's name is "2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19)", abbreviated as "The main consideration is that COVID-19 certainly forms pneumonia, but, more often, it does not form pneumonia, but causes other underlying complications and turns into serious illness or even death.

This is a major step forward from "no longer judging subconfluent, subconfluent, or temporal concomitant". Many other countries have also stopped deciding on dense connections. In Singapore, there is no longer an official determination of intimate contact, but people are encouraged to use the ART antigen test stick to check themselves if someone is diagnosed, regardless of symptoms, especially before attending a large event or visiting elderly relatives or friends.

As a further example, inbound travelers with negative pre-trip test results will no longer be quarantined after entry, which is basically in line with international practice. For example, the United Kingdom does not require pre-trip testing regardless of vaccination, and all are exempted from testing and quarantine; Singapore is relatively cautious, and passengers who have completed full vaccination are not tested or quarantined, but those who have not completed full vaccination are still required to undergo pre-trip testing.

Another example is the abolition of the "five-one" and seat rate restrictions, and the relaxation of restrictions on the passenger volume of international flights. It should be said that the implementation of these measures may be useful during the "external prevention of importation and internal prevention of rebound" phase of dynamic clearance, but after the opening up, the removal of these outdated restrictions and the resumption of normal international exchanges, including those of relatives who have not seen each other for three years, will be beneficial to the economy on the one hand, and to society and people's mental health on the other.

One more example, category B B control. This is an important step in the normalization of epidemic prevention. Many readers will be impressed by Singapore's "Black Tuesday". For the past year or so, Singapore clinics have returned to normal working hours, with weekends and holidays off, and some patients have had to go to the clinic and be tested on Mondays, with confirmed data included in the Tuesday bulletin. This is the normalization of epidemic prevention.

Campaign-style epidemic prevention works well at the beginning of an epidemic, but it is not sustainable. Epidemic prevention is a marathon, not a 100-meter sprint. It is inevitable that we will go to a normal epidemic.

On the other hand, some initiatives are still a little too cautious. For example, masks must still be worn on flights. However, it is a big step forward from the days when airplanes were covered in white, when masks were only required.
